Graduate Teaching
The Centre for Employment and Labour Relations Law plays a leading role in the Asia Pacific region in the provision of graduate legal education in Australian, international and comparative labour relations law.
Members of the Centre teach in the graduate coursework program in labour relations law, part of the highly respected Melbourne Law Masters program, and they are also engaged in supervising research higher degree projects at the Law School.
Coursework Programs
Melbourne Law School’s graduate program in labour relations law has been running successfully for many years. Ongoing changes to laws governing the workplace and labour force in Australia means that there is an ever increasing need for knowledge and analysis of labour relations law. The graduate program in labour relations law is ideal for legal practitioners, as well as those dealing with labour issues in the public sector, private management, personnel services, trade unions and employer groups.
The Centre is committed to providing relevant, responsive education in this important field. Courses are available to both law and non law graduates on a full-time or part-time basis and 90% of subjects are offered intensively, providing maximum convenience for busy professionals.
Members and associates of the Centre for Employment and Labour Relations Law, together with international visiting scholars, are responsible for teaching all subjects in the graduate program in labour relations law.

Subjects
The subjects in the graduate program in labour relations law cover issues relating to the regulation of working relationships and conditions, enterprise bargaining, discrimination and health and safety. The Melbourne JD
The Melbourne Juris Doctor (JD) is a fully graduate law degree and the only degree offered by Melbourne Law School that leads to admission to legal practice. The Melbourne JD is designed for students with an undergraduate degree in a discipline other than law or a degree in law from a different legal system. The degree is only offered on a full-time basis.
